Publication of the auction report - delivery period 26-27
RTE informs market participants that the first auction under the new capacity mechanism took place on July 6. It enabled RTE to contractualize for the capacities needed to ensure electrical security of supply for the 2026-2027 delivery period, the first "electrical winter" under the new scheme (from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027).
The design of the new capacity mechanism is based on a centralised architecture in which RTE determines the capacity needs, organizes the auction, and contracts all capacity requirements for security of supply, replacing bilateral exchanges of capacity guarantees.
A report has been drawn up by RTE to provide an analysis of the auction results, following this link: New capacity Mechanism - Auctions and secondary market
This publication aims to ensure a transparent and simultaneous information to all market participants following the auction.
